Concordia University and the Cascade Collegiate Conference are bringing the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics cross country championships to the Fort Vancouver National Historical Site in 2009 and 2010.

The 2009 meet will be held Nov. 21. In 2010, it will be Nov. 20.

"This meet has never been to the West Coast before," Concordia coach Randy Dalzell said. "West Coast teams have not fared well, and I think the travel and changing time zones has been a factor. We don't have the money to go out there and spend a week getting acclimated."

In fact, the NAIA cross country meet never has been held west of Oklahoma City and has been parked in Kenosha, Wis., for 28 of the past 33 years.
